Last Friday, some of our Senior Leadership Team spent an eight-hour shift on SKYCITY Auckland’s main gaming floor to gain first-hand customer and employee insights.

Our CEO, Graeme Stephens, Jo Wong (General Counsel & Company Secretary), Sonya Crosby (Chief Innovation Officer), Rob Hamilton (Chief Financial Officer), and Claire Walker (Group GM Human Resources) each worked the 8pm – 4am shift, starting with pre-shift dinner at our staff restaurant and then a team briefing at 7.30pm.
Our senior leaders worked across a variety of jobs, including Table Games, Gaming Machines, Customer Service Ambassadors, Premier Rewards, Cashiers, Security and Food & Beverage.
“My biggest take out was the overwhelming sense of “team” and positivity coming through in all areas that I had the opportunity to engage with. There’s nothing quite like experiencing customer interactions first hand.”, says Sonya Crosby.
Our Table Games Manager, Radha Vellanki, who made sure the night ran smoothly says “It was such a positive experience for all of the staff to see the Senior Leadership Team at the frontline with our staff on one of the busiest nights of the week. Never before in our twenty years of operations has a CEO or Senior Leadership Team spent the entire shift on the floor with staff. The experience alone has left a real sense of excitement and pride within our department.”
