Gurpreet Singh's WOW moment

It was a busy day on the Sky Tower’s 20th birthday when a customer, who had come to join the celebrations, ran into trouble at the car park exit. With a two-month-old baby, a young mother had to leave urgently due to an emergency call from home and in her rush, misplaced her paid parking ticket. Panicking and very stressed, she reversed quickly all the way out of the Nelson Street exit lane with her son crying in the back.

Gurpreet Singh, Parking Services Tech Assistant, was on duty, noticed her backing down the lane and went to check if she was okay. Having a record of excellent customer service and recently winning his third Quest for the Best Award, Gurpreet knew what needed to be done! He calmed her down, told her not to worry about her ticket and let her out of the car park. The young mother was so impressed with his service she left feedback saying, "He was so kind, he cheered me up and I was extremely touched by how helpful he was. He’s an asset to your team and I couldn’t thank him enough!”

We spoke to Gurpreet about the experience. “I’ve been with SKYCITY for just over six years now and am thankful and proud I can make a real difference in the lives of our customers at SKYCITY. I would like to thank SKYCITY for always treating and rewarding me so well - I’m so proud to work here and to be able to have done my part in supporting the success of our Sky Tower’s birthday celebrations.”
