A civil union between two Australian men was made possible when one of our staff members, Pelenatino (Tino) Malo, Customer Service Ambassador Gaming Machines, and his friend, Evin, agreed to act as witnesses at the registry office ceremony.
A natural customer service moment, Tino and Evin were so moved by the ceremony, they bought a bottle of wine, a dozen red roses and a box of chocolates for the newlyweds and sent it to their table at our Orbit 360 Restaurant that evening.
“We wanted to show them how happy we are for them and to help them celebrate,” says Tino.
The men were blown away by Tino and Evin’s kind-heartedness, "It was such a beautiful thought, genuine kindness, love and friendship from strangers. As well as a great memory of Auckland, we will treasure the photo we took, of the four of us at the registry office, showing and reminding us of the kindness of strangers."
