This year our creative pastry team wanted to bring some fun to the Easter Holidays. It all began around the brain storming table, with the usual banter and fun, when one of the team mentioned they had seen a company in the US that had made hollow ducks! The team did some research and discovered that the classic rubber duck could become an incredible chocolate creation.
But where on earth were they going to get rubber duck moulds made? The team found a company in China that produced the 3D image that would eventually make the first prototype out of food safe silicon and two weeks later they received the mould!
The end result is a range of amazing and fun ducks, all with individual names from Bat duck to Diva Duck. The ducks are on display in the lobby of the Grand Hotel. The ducks are made out of chocolate and filled with chocolate bonbons.
