Andrew Ibbertson — Logistics Coordinator
I’m Andrew, and I work in the Loading Dock primarily looking after the bars and maintaining inventory of beverages at SKYCITY Hamilton. I have been working at SKYCITY in the loading dock for 11 years. I started part-time as a dock assistant in a two man team. In 2011 I became full-time and Logistics became a one man department for a couple of years. Business started to pick up and Jamie joined the team roughly five years ago, and finally Sheldon in 2017.
I enjoy my job, ultimately it is the people that make a job, and SKYCITY has a great team.
Sheldon Almeida — Logistics Manager
SKYCITY has been like my second home, I have been with them for the last 5 years. Since my time here in NZ, I have been employed with the organisation and have been fortunate to have had professional as well as personal growth in the years gone by. During my tertiary education, I started working with SKYCITY Auckland as a Food & Beverage Attendant in 2014. Within the same year I moved to the Logistics team as a Warehouse Assistant where I worked for a year, after which I went on to become a Supply Chain CSE and quickly went on to becoming a Purchasing Coordinator.
With continuous growth, I finally landed a position here in Hamilton as the Logistics Manager in 2017, a profile that I thoroughly enjoy, everyday is a new challenge and has a new learning. I was also fortunate to be part of the first Emerging Leaders Programme here in Hamilton which in itself was an amazing experience. I have always maintained that working with SKYCITY is like working with one big happy family and especially here in Hamilton, being a smaller number—seeing happy faces, makes you want to come into work everyday. I believe that loyalty and hard work will take you a long way within this organisation, and I am proof that hard work does pay off!
Jamie Myers — Logistics Coordinator
Hi, I’m Jamie from the logistics team. I work down in the loading dock and my job is to make sure all the food is received correctly and delivered to the correct kitchens. I started at SKYCITY Hamilton in 2011 as a grounds attendant and occasionally I would help out in the carpark booth, then I transferred here in 2012 into the dock as a part-time and full-time in early 2013.
Before I worked at SKYCITY Hamilton I worked in a few different jobs from making and installing kitchens and as a horticultural apprentice for the Hamilton City Council for three years, where I moved around such places as the Hamilton Gardens and Waikato Stadium and Seddon Park.
