Meet Sheridan, she's very recently joined our Recruitment team as Recruitment Advisor. When asked what makes SkyCity different to other places she’s worked, she says “SkyCity is different to other places I have worked due to the diverse workforce I am now working within. There are many different levels, responsibilities, functions and areas within the business, which is something that attracted me to this role.”

What does your current role entail?
My role is accountable for delivering best practice recruitment solutions including end to end selection processes, assisting with staffing needs, forecasting, on-boarding, implementing attraction strategies and enhancing the employment brand, and implementing recruitment strategies, policies, processes and systems.
What do you enjoy most about your current role?
I enjoy the variety – no two days are ever the same in Recruitment! I also enjoy being part of the candidate’s journey as they progress through their career. Offering someone their dream role is fulfilling and exciting to be part of. I also enjoy aligning top talent and organisational fit, and meeting people from all walks of life.
This role is also exposing me to a completely new industry which I am enjoying learning about, whilst being able to continually develop and grow my skills and capabilities.
What challenges do you face in your role? What do you think people should know before they apply for a job like this?
My only challenge so far is remembering everyone’s names! But I am looking forward to helping the team overcome an array of challenges that we will surely be faced with during the development of the workforce over the coming months.
What qualifications do you have? Are they required for your role?
I completed my Bachelor of Commerce (double major in Human Resource Management and Management) in 2015. This qualification is required for my current role.

What do you enjoy about working at SkyCity?
The people I’m surrounded by! I know I’m only eight days in, but I have felt wholeheartedly welcomed and supported by everyone I have met so far. It is also a very exciting time to have come onboard with SkyCity Adelaide with the expansion, renovations and new developments happening now and in the coming months.!
Which of SkyCity’s employee benefit(s) do you enjoy most?
Not having to food prep my meals due to the ever changing meals provided by SkyCity for their employees at the wonderful Pitstop.
