Michelle Gifford
Michelle Gifford is a SkyCity Superstar! A highly respected member of our SkyCity family, Michelle is known for her excellent customer relationships, authentic leadership and care for her team members. Last week Michelle was recognised for her 25 years of service where she becomes the first person in SkyCity history to reach this amazing milestone.
We caught up briefly with Michelle recently and asked her a few questions about her time at SkyCity:
What’s your current role at SkyCity?
I’m currently the Loyalty Programme Operations Manager (it’s a bit mouthful!)
What other roles have you held at SkyCity?
I came to SkyCity from the Christchurch Casino to support the pre-opening preparations. I trained new Table Games Dealers. It was a fun, and exciting time. Since my first role I’ve also worked in the following roles; Pit Manager Table Games, Gold Card Manager, Car Park Manager and Gaming Machines Manager.
What’s one lesson you have learned while working here at SkyCity?
It’s a simple one but “don’t presume”.
What do you love the most about SkyCity?
I really love the people – many of whom make me laugh daily. I also love my inspirational friends and Social Club members getting excited about draws and events.
How do you find balance in your work and home life?
I moved north of Auckland 2 years ago and I really love it.
Spending time there, away from the city has been great…It’s funny you should ask this as I’ve just done a flexible working application!
