This month is also the Auckland Pride Month and Jeremy is a member of our SkyCity Pride committee. When asked what SkyCity’s Rainbow Tick accreditation meant to him, he says ‘I think it’s important that people feel empowered to bring their whole selves to work. What are you enjoying the most about your role and working at SkyCity?
I’m the Customer Strategy Manager at SkyCity. My job is to use data and analysis to work out how to get better commercial outcomes from our customers. A big part of my job is looking at how our customers behave and engage with SkyCity. Working out how different factors impact the way our customers interact with us is both challenging and fascinating. I also enjoy that I get to work with stakeholders across a wide range of projects in different business units and departments.
What have you found at SkyCity that makes it different from other workplaces?
When I came to work for SkyCity I had to relocate to New Zealand from Australia, having never even visited here before. Overall, I was impressed by the friendly, informal, laid-back lifestyle here – and I think that translates into the workplace culture of SkyCity.
What does SkyCity’s Rainbow Tick accreditation mean to you?

What was your role prior to joining SkyCity?
I’ve worked in the casino industry for about 10 years. I started as a Table Games dealer while studying, dealing Poker and Blackjack. After about a year I finished my degree and got an opportunity to move into Table Games analytics. I was in this team until 2019 when I made the move to SkyCity in my current role.
How do you manage your wellbeing and work/life balance?
Outside of work I have several hobbies and interests I pursue. I’m currently finishing my Masters thesis in pure mathematics but also I paint, draw, work with wood and get out into nature whenever I can.
