Your career experience prior to SkyCity and any qualifications you may have
I started as an intern with Crowne Plaza Kathmandu, Nepal in 1999. I then moved to India to work for The Luxury Collection by Marriott as a pre-opening member in a fine dining restaurant, and later as a Butler. I moved to Sea Island Resorts in Georgia, USA in 2006 and underwent a Supervisory Development Program, specialising in rooms division and butler services. I then moved to Dubai in 2007 and worked as a pre-opening member at Raffles Dubai as Senior Butler and Departmental Trainer. I worked for IHG with InterContinental Hotels and Resorts in Perth and Adelaide as Chef Concierge until 2020. In 2015, I became a member of prestigious Les Clefs d’Or, the International Association of Professional Hotel Concierge and have been serving as State Director for South Australia since 2020. I completed my butler training with a butler school based in Florida and have also completed a Diploma in Hotel Management.
What does your current role entail?
There are many aspects to my role. An important one is to offer gracious and refined hospitality to all our guests and colleagues at Eos by SkyCity and SkyCity Adelaide. The other aspect of my role also includes identifying and nurturing talent through an empowerment culture and setting each individual up for success. As a concierge, my team and I collaborate with local businesses and tourism organizations to create authentic and unique experiences for our guests.
What do you enjoy most about your role and working at SkyCity?
My role offers me an incredible opportunity to build guest and community advocacy for our brand and all this while having fun at work! I love how all colleagues embrace diversity and inclusiveness at SkyCity. Recently shared 40:40 Vision by our company is a great testament to our commitment to maintain gender balance across the entire organisation.
How do you manage your wellbeing and work/life balance?
I keep a positive mindset even during adverse situations, and I meditate every day. As for work/life balance, I have learned to believe in work and life harmony. I love what I do at work and enjoy my time with my friends and family. The goal for me is to integrate work and life that makes me content and happy.
